Moving Beyond the Basics
Prerequisite: Aleph+ or placement test
This course is aimed towards those who have completed some or all of level Aleph and want to strengthen their speaking, reading, and writing skills. The course focuses on the past tense and building your confidence in order to naturally incorporate its use into daily use. You will continue to enhance your vocabulary by learning words that are essential in daily activities and interactions.
We will cover topics such as clothes, shopping, animals, and much more. You will also improve your grammar skills through discussions relevant to Israeli society: "Going to the army" and "Cultural diversity in Israel". By the end of the course, you will see an improvement in your ability to express yourself and understand those around you.
During the last week of the course, students will be required to take a test in order to qualify for the next level, Bet and continue their Hebrew studies. They will be graded on their oral and written work and based on their in-class effort and on the test. This class is limited to 8-12 students.
If you feel that a more concentrated course with more frequent classes suits your needs, you can join one of our Intensive courses, this summer, taught in a more compact time frame. These run over two weeks, where you will have daily classes to immerse yourself in the language.
