Who is Aviv

Lights, camera, action! Picture a young Aviv, back in 2001, working as a counselor for Jewish students from across the pond. One day, he steps in for a Hebrew teacher, and BAM! An electric jolt of passion sparks through him, turning his love for the Hebrew language into a mission to share it with others.

Just like any blockbuster, though, there were a few twists and turns. With a freshly minted MA in Middle Eastern Studies and a diploma in Hebrew language editing from none other than Tel Aviv University, Aviv veered off to a thrilling side gig as a journalist for Yedioth Acharonot. But that flaming passion for teaching Hebrew couldn't be extinguished.

Fast forward to 2015, the year that saw the birth of UAB - Ulpan Aviv Bertele. Three years later, our hero leveled up the game by moving to a spanking new location, handcrafted to perfection by none other than Aviv himself.

Through UAB, Aviv's had the pleasure of empowering everyone from fresh-off-the-boat immigrants to foreign diplomats to speak Hebrew with the confidence of a Tel Aviv native.

And now, the twist: Many believe that one-on-one tutoring is the yellow brick road to mastering Hebrew. But Aviv, our intrepid language trailblazer, begs to differ. He firmly believes that the magic happens in small, cozy groups engaged in brain-tingling discussions about Hebrew and Israeli culture. This way, students can genuinely immerse themselves in the language and culture.
