Service Description

Welcome to UAB’s exclusive Book Club. Since we started in 2024, we’ve already read over ten novels written by a variety of Israeli authors. If you haven’t read a book in Hebrew yet but your level is Gimel or above, you are more than welcome to join us (and you can always WhatsApp me to consult). This time, I’ve chosen Ayelet Gundar-Goshen’s wonderful and contemporary novel, 'Relocation'. At its core, 'Relocation' is a story about a head-on collision between the American Dream and Israeli identity. It’s a sharp psychological novel about the relationships between parents and children, and a thriller centered on a mother who becomes an reluctant detective, searching for a truth that could ruin her. The writing flows beautifully, making it an enjoyable read even for those speaking Hebrew as a second language. How does it work? Each week, I read a section, and then we discuss it together. This approach helps you learn how to tackle a book without constantly running to the dictionary. It might be challenging at first, but bit by bit, you’ll understand more and more. Why? Because your brain starts thinking in Hebrew. Our discussions get deeply personal and engaging, and we’ve built a wonderful little community within the UAB family. This online class meets once a week on Zoom and is led by me, Aviv—the owner of UAB and a Hebrew teacher since 2009. The price includes the book in either print or digital format, depending on your preference. Looking forward to seeing you there, Aviv
