Service Description

Prerequisite: Interview with Aviv Bertele This course is aimed at students who have already finished level Gimmel (and above) and wish to read their first book in Hebrew. In this course we will be reading "Black Box", a novel written by Amos Oz. The book is written in the form of letters, which the various characters write to each other. The correspondence ultimately proves a metaphor for the fractiousness and contention between Israeli Jews of different political and religious outlooks. The course includes reading parts of the book together and the rest at home as well as class discussions on various themes in the book. This course is conducted via the Zoom app and includes a copy of the book (hard copy or digital—your choice) that is read during the course.
