Service Description

Prerequisite: Interview with Aviv Bertele This course is aimed at students who have already finished level Gimmel (and above) and wish to read their first book in Hebrew. In this course we will be reading "גדר חיה", a novel written in 2014 by Dorit Rabinyan. The novel, which is set in New York City, chronicles a love affair between Hilmi, a Palestinian artist, and Liat, a Jewish Israeli translator. The two eventually separate, with the man going to Ramallah and the woman going to Tel Aviv. The course includes reading parts of the book together and the rest at home as well as class discussions on various themes in the book. This course is held at our comfortable and inviting Tel Aviv ulpan and includes the book read in the course.
