H1 Online
Language, Culture, Mastery
Service Description
Prerequisite: Level D2 at UAB only This course is exclusively designed for UAB graduates who have successfully completed level D. External students are requested to undergo a placement test and complete levels D1 and D2 before integrating. This course caters to new Hebrew-speaking immigrants who wish to enrich their language skills. The course will include special verb exercises, advanced grammar, and enhancement of academic and literary writing. During the course, we will analyze an episode from the series "Secular" by KAN 11, examine the tension between gender and Judaism, and, as we love at UAB, we will review linguistic issues in the light of history. Additionally, a portion of the course will focus on architecture: the culture of clubs in industrial buildings, and how even in Israel certain neighborhoods are undergoing gentrification. During the last week of the course, students will be required to take a final exam to test their knowledge. They will be graded on their oral and written work and based on their in-class effort and on the test. If you live overseas or simply feel comfortable learning from home, you can join our online H1 Course where the same level of Hebrew is taught just through Zoom. This course also runs over 10 weeks, and in no time you will have immersed yourself in the Hebrew language. *Online courses are held through the Zoom app and include a workbook specially developed by Aviv Bertele and access to a vocabulary app tailored to your class level.
