Service Description

Prerequisite: Initial Consultation with Aviv Bertele This course targets learners who have successfully completed Level Gimmel or above and are eager to delve into a full-length Hebrew book. Our chosen piece, "הקיץ של אביה," holds a unique place in the realm of Hebrew literature. Few books have been etched in the Israeli heart as "הקיץ של אביה". The bald-headed girl, Aviah, became emblematic of many children who grew up facing the hardships post the establishment of Israel and under the looming shadow of Holocaust memories. As we journey through Aviah's life, from her time in a boarding school to the challenges she faces living with her tormented mother, readers are offered a profound look into the soul of a nation and its people. The coursework involves collective reading portions during class, with the remaining sections assigned for at-home study. Class discussions will delve into various themes found in the book, providing a comprehensive understanding. This time we are offering this course in a crash course frame - for the first time ever in the UAB history. The course is conducted in our welcoming and pleasant Ulpan in Tel Aviv. The book for the course is included as part of the package.
